Overall Purpose of the Job:
The Facility Coordinator plays a central role in ensuring Firth Hotel & Restaurant operates in a safe, functional, and guest-ready condition at all times. The position supports the Facilities Manager by coordinating maintenance activities, managing facility-related requests, monitoring building systems, and ensuring compliance with safety standards.
The purpose of the role is to safeguard the hotel's physical infrastructure, enhance the guest experience through efficient facility management, and maintain seamless operations across all departments.
Reports to: Manager
Key Activities and Accountabilities:
Specific Main Duties
- Maintenance and repair: Oversee all day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance of the hotel building, restaurant and bar, grounds, and equipment.
- Safety and compliance: Ensure the hotel meets all health, safety, and environmental regulations, and manage risk assessments and safety procedures.
- Project management: Coordinate renovations, capital projects, and coordinate with outside contractors.
- Staff and contractor management: Supervise maintenance and housekeeping staff, and manage service contracts with contractors and suppliers.
- Operational support: Respond to facility emergencies and service requests, and liaise with other departments, such as housekeeping and guest services, to prioritise work.
What do we need?
To be considered for this role, we would like you to have:
- Strong time management skills.
- Knowledge of building systems, equipment, and maintenance practices.
- Experience in similar environment, hospitality, customer service or care experience.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with staff, guests, and contractors.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £28,000 – £34,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Ability to commute/relocate:
- 5 Clifton Road, Lossiemouth, IV31 6DJ: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
Experience:
- Facilities Coordinator: 3 years (preferred)
