The role: We're looking for an Underwriter to join our team in Macclesfield. You'll assess finance applications, balancing commercial needs with customer outcomes. Using data, policy, and judgement, you'll make responsible lending decisions while ensuring fair treatment of customers.

What you'll do:

Assess motor finance applications in line with policy and FCA requirements

Review affordability, credit history, and supporting documents

Identify risks and escalate where necessary

Communicate clearly with dealers and customers

Help refine underwriting processes for efficiency and fairness

What we're looking for:

Experience in underwriting or credit decisioning (motor finance preferred)

Strong analytical skills and sound judgement

Knowledge of affordability, credit risk, and responsible lending

Clear and confident communication skills

High attention to detail and accuracy
