Job Overview

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a purpose-built, independent neurorehabilitation hospital in York. This innovative service specialises in neurobehavioural assessment and post-acute rehabilitation for individuals with non-progressive acquired brain injuries.

The centre provides a highly supportive and multidisciplinary environment aimed at restoring independence, improving function, and enhancing quality of life. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Band 6 or Band 7 therapist looking to make a meaningful impact in a specialist adult neurorehabilitation setting.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults with communication and swallowing needs following acquired brain injury.

  • Develop and implement person-centred therapy plans as part of an integrated MDT approach.

  • Provide specialist input into neurobehavioural rehabilitation programmes.

  • Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to patient reviews and discharge planning.

  • Participate in service development and contribute to best practice standards within the therapy team.

  • Receive professional support, supervision, and CPD opportunities to support your clinical growth.

Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).

  • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).

  • Experience working with adults with acquired brain injury or in a neurorehabilitation setting.

  • Strong clinical reasoning and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.

  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and continuing professional development.
