If yes, we are offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dynamic individual to join the Property Team at Cherwell District Council.

The Property Team manages the Council's property assets comprising operational buildings, commercial properties, shopping centres, community centres and leisure centres.

We want to recruit a Commercial Property Finance Advisor to co-ordinate and assist the property team on income budgets and tenant relationships, primarily across the income producing portfolio. This will lead and help us manage our property budgets and forecasting.

You will be based in the Property Team but will have the support of the Finance Team

In this role, you will support the Property Team with their areas of responsibility. From the preparation of income budgets and forecasts, budget monitoring, through to the annual closedown of accounts as well as financial analysis and reporting. It gives you a chance to learn and develop a diverse knowledge and understanding of local authority accounting.

The Person:

We are looking for a qualified AAT member (or seeking to attain these qualifications) or equivalent with a depth and range of practical accounting experience ideally in a local authority setting or large

corporate setting. Commercial acumen is key, as is the ability to engage with a wide range of key stakeholders, particularly commercial organisations.

You will have good excel skills and the ability to analyse complex data. You will have excellent verbal and written communication skills to support others to have a good understanding of financial matters of varying complexity. You will enjoy working in a team but will also be comfortable working on your own to meet tight deadlines.
