We're working with a respected law firm based in Chester to recruit a Legal Cashier to join their growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a supportive, values-driven firm with a strong reputation across a range of legal services.

The firm is seeking someone with at least six months experience in legal cashiering who is confident working within the SAR's, and enjoys a varied, hands-on role. You'll be part of a friendly finance team, working closely with the Legal Cashier Team Lead and supporting the wider practice with essential financial operations.

Key Responsibilities of a Legal Cashier

  • Monitoring and allocating receipts across client and office accounts
  • Processing online payments including Faster Payments, CHAPS, and SWIFT
  • Liaising with banks to resolve queries and ensure smooth transactions
  • Managing payroll and related tax/pension tasks for client matters
  • Reconciling credit card, debit card, and cheque control accounts
  • Processing client bills, expenses, and supplier invoices
  • Recording property completions and ensuring correct VAT treatment
  • Supporting residual balance checks and other ad hoc finance tasks

What We're Looking For in a Legal Cashier

  • Minimum 6 months experience as a Legal Cashier
  • Solid understanding of the Solicitors Accounts Rules
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong numerical skills
  • Organised, reliable, and a strong team player
