Summary

We are seeking part time Drivers to join our team at SCPS in Southampton Docks. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the safe and timely delivery of vehicles on and off ships for import storage and export shipping.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a range of vehicles safely and efficiently for boarding and disembarking on and off ships.
  • Must be at least 18 years old - due to safety critical / health and safety working environment.
  • Hold a full UK/EU driving licence for 12 months (including manual vehicles)
  • Maximum of 6 penalty points

Hours and Flexibility of Work

Our vehicle cargo handlers work a range of shifts including any shift pattern or night working and weekends, to provide support to port operators with all aspects of vehicle cargo handling, driving & lashing.

You tell us your availability to work on a weekly basis and we will allocate you work based on the work we have available, matching your availability.

Our staff maintain zero damage tolerances through detailed training, careful vehicle handling and safe working practices.

Our vehicle cargo handlers abide by the Safe System of Work procedures, are fully compliant with the Health and Safety at Work Act and operate to preserve and foster sound environmental practices within their duties.

Requirements:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Held a full UK/EU driving licence for 12 months (including manual vehicles)
  • Maximum of 6 penalty points
  • Prepared to work in all areas across the Port of Southampton including Marchwood.

All new starters will be provided with:

  • The required PPE.
  • HR / Health and Safety Induction
  • All required Training – Driving
  • Tour of the Port for familiarisation Training.
