Job Description

Job Title: Design Engineer
Location: Northampton
Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum

We are currently seeking a Design Engineer to join a growing engineering company based in Northampton. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual with strong SolidWorks skills to contribute to the design and development of innovative mechanical products.

Responsibilities:

  • Create and develop 3D models and detailed engineering drawings using SolidWorks.

  • Work closely with the engineering and production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing and quality standards.

  • Support the development and improvement of new and existing products.

  • Produce design documentation, BOMs, and technical reports.

  • Assist in prototype development and testing when required.

Requirements:

  • HNC/D or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.

  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and 2D/3D CAD design.

  • Good understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes.

  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
