Summary of Role

  • To assist in ensuring that all children attending the setting are kept safe and receive rich and stimulating play experiences appropriate to their age and stage of development.
  • To assist the manager and deputy manager , in ensuring that all legislation in relation to registration with regulatory bodies, special needs, safeguarding and Health and Safety is complied with.
  • To lead, mentor and manage team members to ensure they are meeting the requirements and ethos of setting.
  • To work alongside the Manager and be responsible to open/close the nursery and assist the Manager in the day to day running of the nursery.

Key Responsibilities

  • To have a sound knowledge of the Safeguarding responsibilities and procedures to follow.
  • To adhere to all company policies
  • To assist the Management in carrying out supervisions and performance management reviews for your team members.
  • Carry out any other duties appropriate to the post as directed by Management.
  • Attend and Chair Meetings.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate would hold a minimum of 2 years post qualifying experience in a full day care setting for children aged up to 5
  • Hold a Level 3 Childcare qualification or higher
  • Paediatric first aid certificate (desirable)
  • Sound knowledge of health and safety and children's development
  • A sound knowledge of Safeguarding procedures

Skills and abilities

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, parents and outside agencies
  • The ability to prioritize, plan and organised workload accordingly.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.30-£12.60 per hour
