Ambitious, detail-obsessed, quality-driven candidates only
Location:
UK-based, ideally near Exeter (Hybrid/Remote with travel)
Salary:
£40,000 – £60,000 p.a. (depending on experience) + generous share options
Reports to:
Head of Engineering
Type:
Full-time
Who We're Looking For
We are hiring our first dedicated QA Engineer — someone who will not only test our platform but design the quality culture, processes, and tooling that will guide JammJar for years to come.
You will own everything from hands-on manual testing, to release governance, to selecting future automation tools.
You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure AI-driven and bespoke customer features are delivered safely, accurately, and reliably.
This is a true start-up role: high autonomy, high ownership, low bureaucracy, and huge impact.
Who You Are
- Manual Testing Specialist: 3+ years of QA experience with strong functional, regression, and exploratory testing skills.
- Autonomous & Proactive: Comfortable being the first QA hire and shaping processes from scratch.
- Jira & Confluence Proficient: Confident in structuring tickets, workflows, and documentation.
- Strong Communicator: Able to explain quality risks clearly and push back appropriately.
- UK Market Awareness: You understand (or can quickly learn) the sensitivity of UK financial data, GDPR, and accuracy needs in the mortgage sector.
Bonus Skills
- Experience with test automation tools (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium).
- Experience with API testing (Postman, Insomnia).
- Background in SaaS, FinTech, Mortgage SaaS, PropTech, or regulated environments.
- Experience testing products that include AI-assisted features (nice-to-have but not essential).
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the Quality Process
- Hands-on Manual Testing
- Documentation & Governance
- Triage and Ticket Management
- Work with Customer Success on Bespoke Features
- Own quality gate for Product Release Cycle
Why Join Us
JammJar is an AI-powered B2B SaaS platform transforming the £1.9bn UK mortgage advisory market. Mortgage brokers spend 15–20 hours a week buried in admin. We're killing that — helping them close more deals, stay compliant, and scale their firms faster.
We're backed by Haatch Ventures and The FSE Group, growing fast, and working with major brands like PurpleBricks and leading regional brokers. You'll be joining a small, senior team who've built and scaled products before — now doing it again with cutting-edge AI.
What's In It For You
- £40–60k salary (depending on experience)
- Generous share options — if we win, you win
- Be the first QA hire — build it your way
- Work directly with the CTO and founding team
- Real autonomy, real impact, and a chance to grow with the company
If you love hunting down bugs, building structure from scratch, and ensuring every release meets a high standard — this role is for you.
Application Deadline:
5pm on 8 December 2025.
How to Apply:
Please send your CV and a brief paragraph on the hardest bug you've ever found (and how you found it) to
