Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing exceptional care to residents in a supportive and respectful environment. This role involves assisting seniors and individuals with disabilities in their daily activities, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in long-term care settings, a strong understanding of patient needs, and a genuine passion for improving quality of life through personalized care. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and observe patient conditions, noting any changes or concerns for appropriate action
- Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care, vital signs, and progress notes
- Follow established care plans tailored to individual needs and preferences
- Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment through regular cleaning and sanitation procedures
Skills
- Proven experience in senior or long-term care environments; group home or assisted living experience is preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and vital signs monitoring
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with residents, families, and healthcare teams
- Compassionate caregiving approach with patience, empathy, and respect for resident dignity
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately while maintaining confidentiality under HIPAA guidelines
