Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Warehouse Worker to join our team based just outside Southampton city centre.

The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient operation of our cold storage facilities and warehouse, handling various tasks related to picking, packing, inventory management, and forklift truck work.

This position requires attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced physically demanding environment.

This position will start on a temporary basis working Monday to Friday, 7am to 3pm. With the opportunity to go permanent after 12-weeks.

Hourly Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour, (immediate start is available).

Duties

  • Load and unload goods from lorries and containers, ensuring safe handling of materials, whilst working in a warehouse, cold storage, and freezer environments.
  • Occasional driving of counterbalance forklift and PPT will be required.
  • Operate warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and manage stock.
  • Perform shipping and receiving duties, including verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
  • Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with materials handling as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the warehouse to promote a safe working environment, health, and hygiene standards.
  • Perform basic math calculations for inventory management, counting, recording and order processing of each consignment.
  • Engage in heavy lifting as necessary, always adhering to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Previous warehouse experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems is essential.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25KG, perform manual handling effectively, including loading and unloading tasks, in a yard, warehouse, and freezer environments
  • Valid counterbalance and PPT forklift experience is essential.
  • Forklift training certificate (in-house or external is essential).
  • capable of adhering to health and hygiene standards.
  • Basic mathematical skills for inventory tracking and order fulfilment tasks.
  • Must be able to communicate with the team.
