Part-Time Healthcare Cleaner – Axminster Medical Centre

At Dart FM Services Ltd, we're proud to deliver high standards of cleanliness in healthcare environments across Devon. We're looking for a reliable, professional, and detail-focused Part-Time Cleaner to join our team at Axminster Medical Centre.

This role plays an important part in helping to protect patients, visitors, and staff by ensuring the practice is safe, hygienic, and welcoming at all times.

About the role

  • Hours: 12 hours per week
  • Days: Monday to Friday (No weekends)
  • Shift: Monday to Friday, 18:00 - 20:00 (fixed hours Monday - Wednesday, Friday and Tuesday and Thursday 17:30 - 20:30)
  • Pay: £12.25 per hour
  • Contract: Permanent, Part-time

Key Responsibilities

  • Clean all areas of the practice including consultation rooms, waiting areas, offices, bathrooms, corridors, and communal spaces.
  • Sanitise high-touch surfaces to help prevent the spread of infection.
  • Safely handle and dispose of waste, including clinical waste, in line with healthcare regulations.
  • Follow cleaning schedules and protocols set by Dart FM Services Ltd and practice management.
  • Use cleaning products and equipment safely (training will be provided).
  • Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns promptly to your supervisor.

What we're looking for

  • Previous cleaning experience is desirable, ideally in a healthcare setting, but full training will be given.
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and pride in delivering excellent work.
  • Ability to follow infection prevention and control procedures precisely.
  • Physically able to carry out the demands of the role (lifting, bending, standing).
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work independently.
