Head of Ecommerce

We're building our first-ever consumer-facing channel — and we're looking for a hands-on, commercially minded digital leader to make it happen.
This role will drive the execution of our emerging B2C and D2C strategy, leading the build and launch of a brand-new D2C web platform and owning the entire eCommerce performance engine. You'll work closely with agency partners to bring a strong consumer proposition to market at pace, while building the digital foundations, tools, and processes needed for long-term growth.
Although we are primarily a B2B business today, this position is pivotal in establishing a meaningful consumer revenue stream and ensuring a consistent, high-quality brand experience across every channel.
What you'll do
- Lead the transition into D2C, delivering the new eCommerce platform and shaping a compelling consumer-facing brand.
- Conduct market research to understand buyer behaviour and translate insights into strategy, targeting, and on-site optimisation.
- Develop a credible D2C brand identity and ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
- Plan and execute integrated digital marketing campaigns across social, paid, email, SEO and content to drive acquisition, engagement, and revenue.
- Optimise the customer journey end-to-end, with hands-on ownership of UX, UI, conversion and onsite performance.
- Build a seamless, personalised shopping experience, including customer engagement and retention strategies.
- Define and deliver the B2C digital strategy, driving growth through improved conversion, increased AOV, and stronger customer lifetime value.
- Manage marketing and acquisition budgets, ensuring efficient spend and maximum ROI.
- Lead digital, media, creative, and technical agency partners.
- Build the core digital function from scratch, establishing scalable tools, processes, and capability.
- Use data, analytics, and testing to optimise performance and inform decision-making.
- Ensure alignment with the wider B2B brand and support cross-functional teams across product, sales, IT and customer service.
What you'll bring
Essential
- Experience leading B2C or D2C eCommerce growth.
- Hands-on expertise in UX, UI, CRO and onsite optimisation.
- A track record of delivering digital or eCommerce platforms with agencies.
- Strong digital marketing capability across paid, owned and earned channels.
- Experience managing eCommerce revenue and marketing budgets.
- Proven agency leadership.
- Experience in multichannel retail or a consumer-led environment.
- Strong data and analytics capability.
- Experience building digital tools, processes, or organisational capability.
- Cross-functional experience with product, IT, sales, and customer service.
Desirable
- Experience shifting from B2B to B2C/D2C.
- Knowledge of eCommerce platforms, CRM, or marketing automation.
- Exposure to launching new consumer propositions or brands.
- Experience in a high-growth digital or challenger brand setting.
