Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support educational programmes across Primary Schools. The ideal candidate will work closely with teachers and students, providing tailored assistance to ensure an inclusive and effective learning environment. This role involves working with children, including those with special educational needs and disabilities, such as autism, to foster their academic and social development. The position offers an enriching opportunity to make a positive impact on young learners' lives while developing professional skills in education and support.

Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in delivering lesson plans and classroom activities tailored to individual student needs.
  • Support children with special educational requirements, including those with autism or other disabilities, ensuring they are fully included in learning activities.
  • Provide one-on-one tutoring and mentoring to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Foster a nurturing environment by encouraging positive behaviour and social interaction among pupils.
  • Assist with the organisation of classroom resources and materials to facilitate smooth lesson delivery.
  • Monitor student progress and report observations to teachers for ongoing assessment.
  • Support students during breaks, lunchtimes, and transitions between activities to promote safety and well-being.
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, teachers, parents, and other staff members to support individualised education plans.

Experience

  • Previous experience working with children in educational or childcare settings is highly desirable.
  • Experience working with individuals with disabilities, particularly autism or behavioural challenges, is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for supporting diverse learning needs is preferred.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Experience in tutoring or mentoring roles demonstrates a strong capacity for personalised support and encouragement.
  • Familiarity with inclusive teaching methods that promote participation for all learners will be considered an asset. This role provides an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to children's development within a supportive environment while gaining valuable experience in specialised education support.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: £130.00-£220.00 per day

Expected hours: 40 per week
