Accounts & Payroll Assistant - Wakefield

We are seeking a dynamic Accounts and Payroll Assistant to support our financial operations and ensure smooth payroll processes. This is an office based role, hours are 10am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday.

What You'll Do
Payroll Administration
- Assist in preparing and processing payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant legislation.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new starters, leavers, and changes to employment terms.
- Respond to payroll-related inquiries from employees and management in a timely and professional manner.
Accounts Support
- Support the finance team with day-to-day accounting tasks, including invoice processing, reconciliations, and data entry.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and maintaining accurate records.
- Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Compliance and Accuracy
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, HMRC regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Perform regular checks and audits of payroll and accounting processes to ensure accuracy.
What We're Looking For
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience in payroll processing and/or accounts administration.
- Experience using payroll software and accounting systems, such as RedSky, would be desirable, but training will be provided.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
