Our Goods In team plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy, safety, and efficiency of our stock flow, ensuring that every product entering our warehouse is checked, recorded, and stored correctly from the moment it arrives.

Location:
Cyprofood Ltd N17

Working Pattern:
Monday to Sunday (shift-based, as per rota)

Role Purpose
To receive, inspect, and record all incoming deliveries, ensuring that goods match purchase orders in both quantity and quality. The Goods In Operative is responsible for maintaining accurate stock records and ensuring all products are safely and hygienically stored in their designated areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive all incoming deliveries and check them against purchase orders, delivery notes, and supplier invoices.
  • Inspect goods for damage, shortfalls, or discrepancies, reporting any issues to the Warehouse Supervisor or Procurement team.
  • Record received items accurately in the warehouse system or manual logs.
  • Label and move stock to the correct storage areas (chilled, frozen, dry, or ambient) following FIFO procedures.
  • Work closely with drivers and the security/check-in team to ensure all incoming vehicles are processed efficiently.
  • Communicate with the accounts and buying teams to resolve discrepancies or delivery errors.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe Goods In area at all times, ensuring compliance with food hygiene and safety standards.
  • Operate equipment safely, such as pallet trucks, forklifts, or hand trolleys (training provided if required).
  • Assist with periodic stock counts and stock reconciliations.
  • Follow all site Health & Safety, Food Hygiene, and PPE requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a warehouse, goods-in, or stock control environment (preferred).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy when checking deliveries.
  • Ability to work in varied temperature zones (dry, chilled, frozen).
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills for recording data accurately.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines during busy delivery periods.
  • Forklift or pallet truck experience desirable (training can be provided).
  • Physically fit and capable of manual handling tasks.
