At Young Engineers, we bring STEM education to life Our award-winning, hands-on workshops teach children aged 4–18 about engineering and technology in a fun and engaging way.We're looking for a motivated and professional Freelance Business Development Manager to help expand our reach across the Worcester area. This role is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys flexibility, independence, and the satisfaction of growing meaningful partnerships in education
The Role
As a Freelance Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for generating new business, building relationships with schools and community organisations, and helping bring Young Engineers' programmes to more children across Worcester. You'll have the freedom to manage your own schedule and work autonomously while being rewarded for results.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and engage with schools, academies, and local education providers, nursing homes, offices across Worcester and nearby areas
- Present and promote Young Engineers' STEM workshops and programmes to headteachers and education leaders
- Negotiate and secure new business contracts
- Maintain and develop relationships to encourage renewals and repeat business
- Attend local education and networking events to raise awareness of Young Engineers
- Manage and track leads, contacts, and outcomes independently
- Collaborate with the delivery team to ensure smooth onboarding of new clients
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Confident, professional, and self-motivated with a proactive approach
- Based in or near Worcester (good knowledge of the local area is a plus)Access to your own transport for client visits
- Desirable:
- Experience in education, training, or community engagement
- Understanding of STEM or enrichment programmes
- Familiarity with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
