Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Maintenance professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our facilities and equipment. This role requires a proactive approach to maintenance tasks, troubleshooting, and repairs, with the ability to work independently or supervise a team. The ideal applicant will possess strong technical knowledge, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections only on electrical systems and building infrastructure
  • To repair easy plumbing issues efficiently, all electrical faults and gas issues must be carried out by an external contractor to comply with Health and Safety regulations
  • To conduct a daily walk around the premises, looking for hazards, ensuring daily checks are carried out following the home's procedures.
  • Work as part of a team, reporting to the home manager any issues that need addressing. on a weekly basis
  • Dealing with contractors, ensuring tasks are completed to a satisfactory level
  • Have some knowledge and understanding of fire procedures and equipment, ensuring regular checks are made, and getting involved in evacuation processes
  • Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections
  • Assist in planning maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and optimize operational efficiency
  • Enjoy decorating and refurbishing areas that need updating
  • Ensure all training requirements are completed, as required

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in general maintenance.
  • General plumbing experience desirable
  • Decorating experience desirable
  • Working within a reasonable timeline.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Customer service orientation with the ability to liaise professionally with colleagues and external contractors
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining high standards of safety and quality
