Senior Financial Accountant

Our client in the real estate industry are looking for a new Senior Financial Accountant to join their growing team based in London. This is a broad role encompassing technical financial reporting and analytical responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and interpret Group borrowing and derivative schedules, process interest and debt-related journals, calculate essential debt ratios and covenant compliance, and contribute to management reporting packs.
  • Produce detailed comparisons of actual results versus budget, forecast, and prior year for net interest, delivering actionable insights to Treasury, FP&A, and Finance teams.
  • Compile the Group cash flow statement and net debt notes for interim and annual financial publications.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements and serve as a primary liaison for external audit engagements.
  • Drive the covenant review process, assess financial resilience of new and existing clients, and participate in quarterly risk assessment meetings.
  • Support tax compliance by preparing derivative tax packs, assisting with corporation tax returns, and completing iXBRL tagging for statutory accounts.
  • Mentor and train new team members on reporting processes and system usage.
  • Deliver tailored financial analysis to inform strategic decisions and deepen understanding of business performance

The ideal candidate will be an ACA qualified Accountant, either at Audit Manager level at a Big 4/ Top 6 firm, or with a couple years of post practice industry experience. Strong technical ability including experience of group consolidations, preparation of statutory accounts, and cash flow will be needed. A high work ethic and strong interpersonal skills will also been necessary to support other areas of the business and finance function.
