Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/Tradesman to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a diverse range of skills in various trades, enabling them to perform a variety of tasks efficiently and effectively. This role requires hands-on experience with both hand and power tools, as well as proficiency in areas such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and painting. The Tradesman will be responsible for maintaining high standards of workmanship while ensuring safety and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for various tasks.
  • Execute carpentry work including framing, installation of doors and windows, and cabinetry.
  • Carry out masonry work including bricklaying.
  • Install plumbing systems including pipes, fixtures, and fittings.
  • Conduct roofing repairs and installations to ensure structural integrity.
  • Paint surfaces to enhance appearance and protect against weathering.
  • Communicate with other tradesmen and contractors to complete projects on time.
  • Maintain a clean and organised work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Lone working or work as a team.
  • Occasionally supervise site

Requirements

  • NVQ level 3 in any trade. Preferrably carpentry.
  • Proven experience as a Tradesman or in a similar role within the construction industry.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to the trade.
  • Strong skills in carpentry, masonry, plumbing, roofing, and painting are highly desirable.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
  • Posses a high level of personal management, time keeping, hygiene and pride in their work
  • Commitment to maintaining safety standards on all job sites.
  • Must own necessary tools and transport.
