RecQuest is delighted to be partnering with a thriving law firm on a strategic senior hire. We are seeking an experienced Head of Commercial Property to lead, grow, and inspire a high-performing team while delivering exceptional client service across a broad range of commercial property matters.

The Role

This is a pivotal leadership position, offering the chance to shape the future of the firm's commercial property practice in Swindon. You'll combine hands-on fee earning with team leadership and business development responsibilities, ensuring the continued success and growth of the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the commercial property team in Swindon

  • Manage a fee-earning caseload including:

  • Acquisitions, disposals & refinancing

  • Leases and renewals

  • Conditional contracts, option, promotion & development agreements

  • Deeds of easement

  • Commercial leases: negotiation, sub-letting & surrendering

  • Landlord and tenant services

  • Build and nurture a strong network of clients and referrers

  • Work closely with partners to evolve business development strategy and expand the practice

The Person

We are looking for a dynamic and ambitious professional who is ready to step into a senior leadership role:

  • Qualified solicitor or equivalent with 8+ years' PQE in commercial property

  • Proven leadership and team management experience

  • Strong business development skills with a track record of winning and retaining clients

  • Excellent communication skills and a client-focused approach

  • Commitment to risk management, compliance, and ongoing professional development
