We are seeking a talented and motivated Part 2 Architectural Assistant to join our team and contribute to our continued growth.

Role Overview

Arkin is currently seeking Part 2 Architectural Assistants to join our London studio. As a Part 2 Architectural Assistant, you will play a key role in the design and delivery of architectural projects. Working closely with senior architects and project managers, you will contribute to concept designs, planning applications, technical drawings, and project coordination. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring architect to gain hands-on experience in a professional and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with design development with appropriate competent technical solutions that align with our vision.
  • Support in preparing and submitting planning applications, building regulations, and other statutory approvals.
  • Work collaboratively with architects, project managers, and external consultants to ensure design feasibility and compliance with regulations.
  • Produce technical drawings, 3D models, and visualisations using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Suite.
  • Ensure that all work is prepared in accordance with the practice's BIM standards and protocols.
  • Improve technical competency and understanding of UK building regulations, planning policies, and construction methods.
  • Assist in site visits, surveys, and project coordination to ensure the smooth delivery of architectural projects.
  • Work towards a full understanding of the RIBA Plan of Work.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers as required.
  • Contribute to the development of sustainable and innovative design solutions.
  • Work towards professional levels of qualification by listening, observing, and learning.

Requirements

  • Part 2 qualification in Architecture (ARB/RIBA-accredited degree).
  • Strong design and technical skills with proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), and Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations, planning policies, and construction methods.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • A proactive and organised approach to workload management.
  • Experience in a professional architectural practice is preferred but not essential.
  • Passion for architecture, sustainability, and innovative design solutions.
