Venn Group is delighted to be recruiting for a Senior Finance Officer on behalf of a respected Charity that aims to tackle hunger. This role will be a part-time position offering 21 hours per week. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative finance team and contribute to the smooth running of financial operations.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Raise invoices and manage corporate portals, including uploading invoices and monitoring payment status.
  • Support credit control activities to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Provide additional AR support as required.
  • Process weekly bank transactions and match income received against invoices.
  • Liaise with the fundraising team to ensure contracts are in place for corporate partnerships and grant agreements.
  • Ensure correct classification of income in line with accounting standards.
  • Create new supplier and volunteer records in the finance system.
  • Assist with AP-related tasks as needed.
  • Support bank and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Deposit cheques and participate in the finance inbox rota.
  • Provide ad hoc assistance across AR and AP functions as required.

Ideal candidate profile:

  • Experience working in the charity or not-for-profit sector
  • Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounting principles
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Confident communicator with strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • A team player with a customer-focused approach and problem-solving mindset
