Your Role in Building Brighter Futures
As a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) at Westover Green Community School and Autism Centre, you will play a key role in contributing to the delivery of Futura's mission statement of "Building the brightest future for all, enabling every individual to flourish". Purpose of the role of a HLTA (see the JD for accountabilities):
The HLTA will:
- Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
- Promote pupils independence, self-esteem and social inclusion
- Give support to pupils, individually or in groups or as a whole class, so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning and experience a sense of achievement.
What You'll Bring to Futura:
We are looking for a motivated and inspirational HLTA who:
- Has a good standard of education (5 x GCSE's – English and Maths C or above)
- Has experience of applying a range of strategies to support pupils in the classroom with the minimum of supervision
- Has experience of planning and leading teaching and learning activities (under supervision) relevant within a primary school setting. Has the ability to supervise a group of pupils
- Has knowledge of how to successfully lead learning activities for a group or class of pupils
- Has knowledge of how to support learners in accessing the curriculum in accordance with the SEND code of practice
- Demonstrate a passion for creating a supportive and inclusive environment for all members of our school community.
- Aligns with our trust-wide values by bringing a positive, collaborative approach to their work and a willingness to continuously develop professionally.
