Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality food services. This role involves assisting with meal preparation, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and ensuring food safety standards are upheld. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering and cooking, with a keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude towards supporting kitchen operations.

Duties

  • Assist with food preparation and meal assembly in accordance with recipes and safety guidelines
  • Support the catering team during events and daily service, ensuring timely delivery of meals
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen surfaces, utensils, and equipment to meet hygiene standards
  • Organise ingredients and supplies, ensuring stock levels are adequate for daily operations
  • Follow food safety procedures diligently, including proper storage and handling of ingredients
  • Serve meals to customers or clients in a professional and courteous manner
  • Assist with washing dishes, cleaning kitchen appliances, and waste disposal to uphold a hygienic environment
  • Support the team in setting up and clearing down after service periods

Experience

  • Previous experience in a restaurant or catering environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and basic cooking skills is desirable
  • Familiarity with food safety standards and hygiene practices within a commercial kitchen setting is preferred
  • Experience in serving or front-of-house roles can be beneficial but is not mandatory
  • Enthusiasm for culinary activities and willingness to learn new skills are highly valued
