IT Application Specialist

As an IT Application Specialist, you'll play a critical role in supporting, managing, and optimising our leading-edge IT and business systems—ensuring our team members have the secure, seamless digital tools they need to deliver the very best service to our customers. Don't worry if you haven't worked in our industry before—full training on our applications and processes will be provided, giving you the tools and confidence to succeed right from the outset
You'll work closely with various teams to ensure our IT applications are configured and maintained to meet business requirements. Proactivity is key, so you'll be encouraged to bring energy and curiosity to the role, finding better ways to work, and delivering a stable and inclusive technological environment. Whether you're providing technical support, managing updates, or liaising with software vendors, your collaborative approach and technical know-how will help us keep everything running at its best.
We know that IT support doesn't always stick to nine-to-five, so your flexibility will be important. We'll also do our best to look after your work-life balance with time back when you cover out-of-hours or are on call.
Key Responsibilities for IT Application Support and Management- Provide expert user support for core business and IT applications, resolving technical issues and maintaining excellent customer service for internal stakeholders.
- Monitor applications to ensure optimal performance, identifying and resolving potential issues before they impact business operations.
- Collaborate with end users, team members, and software vendors to coordinate system upgrades, enhancements, patches, and integrations.
- Document solutions, processes, and procedures clearly to build a knowledge base accessible to the whole team.
- Support data integrity and security by following best IT practices and complying with data protection regulations.
- Train and guide colleagues on new features or applications, empowering everyone to use systems confidently and efficiently.
- Proven experience supporting business applications or IT systems in a commercial environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and an ability to clearly communicate technical concepts to non-technical colleagues.
- Adaptable and eager to learn—comfortable with new technologies, systems, and processes.
- A genuine team player, willing to contribute ideas and support teammates.
- Experience with incident management and application troubleshooting is an advantage.
- Understanding of ITIL principles or service management frameworks is desirable, but not required.
- Exposure to ERP, CRM, or POS systems, especially within a retail or customer service environment.
- Relevant IT or computing qualifications (such as BCS, CompTIA, Microsoft, etc.).
- Knowledge of data governance and information security best practices.
