We are looking for someone who is energetic, enthusiastic, with a real 'can do' attitude and who is not afraid to make an impact. We want you to bring your brilliant administrative, and people person skills with you when you join us, so that together we can support the most vulnerable children in Swindon and really make a difference to their lives.
Your next role
The Quality Assurance and Review Team plays a pivotal role in supporting Quality Assurance Reviewing Officers (QARO's) who chair Child We Care For Reviews, alongside Chairs who do Child Protection Conferences. The Team is therefore responsible for a range of confidential and sensitive information about Children We Care For and Child Protection.
We put the child at the center of everything that we do, and we need you to join us in doing this. This role is based within the Quality Assurance and Review Team in Children's Services, the primary role of this post is to take minutes for a variety of meetings but the key focus of this role will be note taking for Child Protection Conferences. You will attend and observe meetings between parents, children, and many other professionals, including police and social workers.
You will accurately record and take detailed notes of meetings, including the key actions. In Child Protection Conferences you will type 'live' into the plan which is produced in the meeting. You will be highly-organised and comfortable meeting deadlines and managing your workload around scheduled meetings. Due to the sensitive nature of the meetings, you will need to meet data protection and confidentiality procedures as well as be able to process information of a potentially distressing nature.
This is a wonderfully challenging and rewarding role, working as part of a busy team making a positive difference to children's lives. Your commitment will be rewarded with full training and development as part of your fixed term contract.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience required for the role:
- Excellent minute taking or audio typing, with the ability to type straight on to a laptop.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Emotionally resilient, able to process information of a potentially distressing nature.
- Ability to concentrate for long periods, despite distractions and disruptions.
You must be fluent in the English language (as a requirement of Part 7 of the Immigration Act "for the effective performance of a customer-facing role").

As an employee, you will receive a diverse and exciting environment in which to work, encouraging creativity and innovation whilst recognising the need to support ongoing personal development and a flexible work life balance.
For Swindon to thrive in the future, we need to lay the foundations now. It's why our regeneration and transformation programmes are already underway. So, you'll be joining us at an exciting time on our journey. We'll look to you to share your knowledge, influence decisions and drive real, positive change.
