Tax Assistant Manager

Are you an experienced tax professional looking for a role with responsibility, autonomy, and variety?

Do you want to join a progressive practice where you'll gain exposure to both compliance and advisory work while leading and developing a team?

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Assistant Manager to join a dynamic firm in Glasgow. You'll work with a broad portfolio of clients, manage team members, and support partners with complex and rewarding tax assignments.

The Role

You'll play a key role in delivering high-quality corporate tax services while helping to develop processes and support the wider team's success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing your own portfolio of corporate clients, ensuring all tax compliance work is delivered accurately and on time.
  • Reviewing and finalising tax computations, returns, and tax accounting entries.
  • Assisting with tax advisory projects such as reorganisations, acquisitions, and share schemes.
  • Mentoring and supervising junior staff, ensuring high standards and strong technical understanding.
  • Liaising with clients and other departments to provide joined-up business advice.
  • Supporting senior management with workflow planning and technical reviews.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement within the department.

About You

  • ATT, CTA, ACA, or ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
  • Solid experience in corporate tax compliance within a UK practice.
  • Proven ability to review and manage junior team members' work.
  • Exposure to or interest in advisory and planning assignments.
  • Strong technical knowledge and commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Motivated, organised, and eager to progress within a growing practice.
