Position Summary

An exciting opportunity to join a team of highly skilled engineers developing cutting-edge power components and solutions. The Principal Applications Engineer will play a critical role in designing advanced controllers, collaborating with customers, and supporting the transition of designs into full-scale production. This position offers the chance to influence next-generation power systems while engaging with global teams and leading customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with customers to understand requirements, secure new business, and transition designs into mass production.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to develop application notes, reference designs, and technical documentation for new products and solutions.
  • Provide training and technical guidance to field application teams, enabling effective customer support and solution presentations.
  • Conduct system-level validation and testing of new products, ensuring performance to specifications and identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Manage the creation of product support tools, including evaluation boards, models, and datasheets, coordinating releases with product launches.
  • Contribute to product roadmap discussions, recommending features and functionality aligned with next-generation system needs.
  • Investigate new markets and applications, document industry requirements, and develop strategies to address customer-specific variations.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in power electronics design and/or applications engineering.
  • Proven ability to engage with Tier 1 customers, secure design wins, and troubleshoot complex systems.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing projects and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and EMI test systems.
  • Hands-on experience with power system design using modern power components.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting complex power systems.
  • Familiarity with simulation and design tools (e.g., PSpice, SIMetrix/Simplis, MATLAB, Mathcad, Excel).
