Bristol, Bristol, United Kingdom O'LearyGoss Architects Full time

Company Description

O'LearyGoss Architects is a well-established and award-winning architectural practice with a reputation for producing high-quality, bespoke designs tailored to individual client needs. As an RIBA Chartered Practice, the company prides itself on director involvement from inception to completion, providing the highest level of client service. Founded by Jenny Goss and Robert O'Leary in 1991, the practice boasts over 25 years of experience across various sectors including residential, healthcare, conservation, education, commercial, and community projects. They specialize in both new build and refurbishment work, with particular expertise in the adaptive reuse of existing buildings.

We are looking for a Senior Project Architect to join our team and help us deliver a variety of projects.

What we offer:

  • An established company with varied, award-winning back catalogue and a passion for building what we design.
  • A current workload which includes new build, conservation and retrofit projects, with an emphasis on breathing new life into old buildings. These projects span community, residential and care sectors.
  • An attractive studio environment (with good coffee).
  • Competitive salary and conditions.
  • An equal opportunities employer who values diversity.
  • A friendly and caring office culture which understands the importance of work/life balance.
  • Opportunity to advance your career within our practice.

Key attributes:

  • Interest in working on a broad range of projects at all RIBA stages.
  • Excited by the challenges of the early design stages, from feasibility to full planning applications.
  • Competent to deliver stage 4 technical design packages and see the project through construction.
  • Good understanding of building construction and the UK regulatory environment.
  • Confident, decisive and willing to take responsibility for the production of high-quality work.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team and thrive in a studio environment.
  • Willing to mentor junior staff.
  • Enthusiastic about working with a variety of clients and consultants.
  • IT literate and willing to learn new ways of working (we use Vectorworks on Macs and almost all projects are BIM from the outset).
  • Dog lover: we have several dogs who spend time in the office. They are not RIBA qualified.
