Job Description
The Assurance Manager - Technology & Data will lead the delivery of the Assurance Plan with a specific focus on technology, data, and artificial intelligence domains. This role will oversee audits and assurance activities that strengthen Sage's digital resilience and governance, ensuring robust controls across emerging technologies and data-driven processes. The position offers excellent exposure to Sage leadership and requires the ability to represent the team, influence stakeholders, and drive forward our digital assurance strategy.
This is a hybrid role, working 3 days a week onsite from our Newcastle office
In this role, you'll champion assurance activities across technology, data, and AI, ensuring they align with Sage's digital transformation ambitions. You'll design and deliver a dynamic, risk-based assurance plan and lead a portfolio of audits from initial planning through to final reporting. As a trusted partner to technology, data, cybersecurity, and AI leaders, you'll help bring clarity to complex issues, highlight emerging risks, and support teams in driving meaningful improvements.
Your work will be deeply connected to Sage's evolution, and you'll play a key role in shaping our assurance methodology and digital assurance strategy. You'll bring assurance to life in the digital space by using analytics, automation, and continuous monitoring to provide timely, data-driven insights. You'll also help nurture the next generation of technology auditors by coaching and supporting less experienced team members.
To thrive here, you'll have a strong foundation in technology risk, data governance, cybersecurity, or AI ethics, and experience delivering risk-based audits in large, complex organisations. You'll be comfortable engaging with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike and able to adapt your communication style to fit the audience. You'll also enjoy juggling multiple projects, thinking creatively, and collaborating with people across the business. Experience with tools such as Power BI, Python, or Alteryx will help you succeed in the role, as will a genuine curiosity about emerging digital trends. Travel of up to 20% may be required, and confidence with core MS Office tools is expected.
We'd be especially excited to hear from you if you have eight or more years of experience in internal audit or assurance, have worked in multinational technology environments, or hold professional qualifications such as CIA, CISA, CDPSE, CISM, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or certifications in AI, cybersecurity, or data disciplines. A commitment to ongoing professional development is essential.
If you're looking for a role where you can influence how a global business manages technology and AI risks—and where you'll be supported by passionate colleagues who share your drive for innovation—we'd love to hear from you. This is your opportunity to shape the future of digital assurance at Sage and be part of a team that's genuinely making a difference.
Why Join Sage?
At Sage, you'll join a community that believes in collaboration, continuous improvement, and doing what's right, for our people, our customers, and our suppliers.
You'll have the space to grow, the tools to succeed, and the support of a team that celebrates progress big and small.
If you're ready to take your finance career further in a role where every detail makes a difference, we'd love to hear from you.
