As part of the
South Yorkshire Airport City project
, the re-opening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport represents one of the region's most ambitious and high-profile regeneration programmes.

We are seeking an experienced
Non-Executive Director (NED)
to join the
Board of Fly Doncaster
, bringing independent insight, challenge, and commercial expertise to help shape the airport's successful mobilisation and return to operation.

Appointed by the
South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA)
, this role offers the opportunity to help steer a major regional asset back into service, ensuring it thrives as a
commercially viable, customer-focused gateway
for South Yorkshire and beyond.

What we need...

  • Proven commercial leadership experience — ideally customer facing sectors such as retail, with experience of new site opening
  • Experience of start-up, mobilisation, or PE experience
  • Board or senior advisory experience in a complex, regulated, or public-private setting.
  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial instincts and a record of delivery in retail, tourism, or B2C markets.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Integrity, independence, and a collaborative mindset aligned to public service values.
