An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced, professional, and hands-on Butler to join a fully staffed private household in Central London. This is a permanent, live-out position, offering the chance to work within a well-structured and supportive team environment. The ideal candidate will be highly adaptable, with the ability to transition seamlessly between formal and informal styles of service, while maintaining the highest standards of discretion, presentation, and professionalism.

Working closely alongside another Butler, the successful candidate will play an integral role in ensuring smooth daily household operations. Approximately 70% of the role will focus on food and beverage service, including table settings, meal and drinks service, and maintaining dining and service areas to an impeccable standard. The remaining duties will include assisting with packing and unpacking, wardrobe organisation, light household tidying, and ad hoc duties as required. The position requires a team-player mindset and a willingness to support the wider household team as needed.

The working schedule is five days per week on a rota basis, covering 9-hour shifts (9:00am–6:00pm or 11:00am–8:00pm), with two consecutive days off each week. Flexibility to work weekends is essential. Candidates should bring a calm, confident approach, with the ability to step up and take the lead when required. DUTIES TO INCLUDE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

·      Provide formal and informal food and beverage service to the highest standards.

·      Set and maintain beautiful table settings and presentation for family meals and events.

·      Assist with inventory control, ordering, and stock rotation of household provisions.

·      Clean, polish, and care for silverware, glassware, and fine tableware.

·      Assist with packing and unpacking, wardrobe organisation, and ad hoc household duties.

·      Maintain a discreet and professional front-of-house presence at all times.

·      Work collaboratively with the co-Butler and wider household team to ensure seamless service delivery.

·      Step into a leadership role when required to support smooth household operations.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

·
     Previous experience as a Butler within a high-end or UHNW private household.

·      Strong food and beverage service skills with excellent attention to detail.

·      Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to changing household schedules.

·      Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain a professional, respectful approach.

·      Confident providing both formal and informal styles of service.

·      Well-presented, organised, and proactive with a hands-on attitude.

·      Discreet, trustworthy, and reliable.

·      Fully eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom.

·      Up-to-date DBS check or the willingness to obtain one.

·      Proven longevity in previous roles

·      Excellent, verifiable references.
