Since 2016, we've helped thousands of companies access funding through innovative digital platforms. Ranked in the Top 15 fastest-growing finance companies, certified as a Great Place to Work, and rated 4.9★ on TrustPilot, we're scaling fast — and building products that make money simple, accessible, and stress-free.
We're now looking for a Lead Engineer to help drive the next stage of our journey — shaping both our business-finance platform and our newest consumer product, the Lovey App, designed to be the "Bank of Mum and Dad."
The Role of Lead Engineer:
As Lead Engineer, you'll guide a, high-performing team of full-stack developers across both our Platform Squad and Lovey App Squad. You'll own technical delivery, architectural decisions, and best practices, while still being hands-on with the code.
You'll balance strategy and execution — ensuring our systems are scalable, secure, and elegant — and that the team feels empowered to deliver fast, reliable, high-impact work.
Technology Usage: Big Query, Cloud, Provenir, Thoughtspot, Hubspot, LTi, Flutter, React, Sequel, Node JS, Python
What You'll Do
- Lead the engineering effort across the Lovey App and Platform Squads, mentoring midweight and junior engineers.
- Design and build scalable, maintainable systems using , Python, and Flutter.
- Architect solutions that serve both consumer-facing and B2B finance products.
- Deploy and maintain services on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Collaborate closely with Product Owners and Designers to define, prioritise, and deliver work that truly moves the needle.
- Champion clean, modern engineering practices — CI/CD, testing, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
- Drive technical direction and contribute to long-term architectural planning.
- Foster a lean, autonomous culture — clear process where needed, freedom where it matters.
What We're Looking For
- 8+ years' experience in full-stack development, with recent leadership or mentoring responsibility.
- Deep knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript ) and Python.
- Strong experience with Flutter for cross-platform mobile development (iOS & Android).
- Bonus: experience with native iOS/Android.
- Proven ability to design, deploy, and maintain services on Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficiency with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and modern development workflows.
- A pragmatic approach — you value clarity, collaboration, and simplicity over bureaucracy.
- A passion for building products that solve real problems and make a genuine difference.
Why Join Love Finance
- Be a key player in building products that reshape how people and businesses manage money.
- Small, focused squads where your work is visible and impactful.
- Lean, agile ways of working — no bloated processes, just smart collaboration.
- Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
- Competitive salary
- A culture where collaboration and innovation is encouraged
Ready to Build Something Meaningful?
We're not looking for someone who just wants another job — we're looking for a builder, a problem-solver, and a technical leader who wants to create something that lasts.
If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet.
