Delegated Operations Analyst
to join our Insurance Operations team.

This role will sits within our London and UK Regions COO function. The Delegated Operations team play a vital role in supporting the Delegated Authority team based in our London, UK office whilst at the same time undertaking transformation activities with which to broaden, and better control the services provided. This exciting opportunity will allow the incumbent to be part of ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and efficiency of delegated underwriting operations. This role combines technical expertise in delegated authority processes with responsibility for financial controls, regulatory reporting, process development, and cross-functional coordination, thereby playing a key part in strengthening the operational resilience of the services provided by the Operations function.

What you'll be doing:

  • Service Management: Assist in the management oversight of delegated premium processing, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to contractual and regulatory obligations. This will include:

  • Drive continuous improvement in bordereaux management and escalation processes.

  • Oversee the operational onboarding of new delegated facilities, acting as a key partner to underwriting teams and ensuring seamless integration into operational processes.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex queries or disputes relating to premium flows, resolving issues with minimal supervision.

  • Performance Monitoring: Measuring and evaluating delegated operations performance. This will include:

  • Assist in management of end-to-end analysis and reporting of Estimated, Written, and Paid Premiums across delegated portfolios.

  • Support the preparing, reviewing, and interpreting reports for senior governance bodies.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and SLAs, identify and analyse performance trends, and proactively recommend corrective actions to leadership.

  • Customer Satisfaction: Champion a service-led approach to delegated operations, fostering strong working relationships with underwriting, claims, and external stakeholders. This will include:

  • Lead the investigation and root cause analysis of high-impact premium discrepancies, ensuring issues are resolved and learnings are embedded.

  • Support and oversee implementation of quality assurance mechanisms, ensuring service consistency, data quality, and process control.

  • Process Improvement: Support the continuous improvement of delegated operations processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. This will include:

  • Support key process improvement initiatives focused on automation, efficiency gains, and reduced risk in delegated operations.

  • Support the design and implementation of enhanced Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), controls, and service delivery frameworks.
  • Collaborate with UK Change & Transformation to support the delivery of strategic change initiatives, including systems improvements and reduced reliance on outsourced functions..
  • Stakeholder Relations: Act as a key point of contact with the business, outsourcing partners, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery. Also, develop liaisons within the team and with other functional departments to ensure the end-to-end business process is effective and efficient.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Support the compliance of delegated operations processes with regulatory requirements whilst also implementing and monitoring risk management practices to mitigate operational risks and improve operational resilience.

  • Training and Development: With the training capability, which is managed from within the Service Delivery team, support colleague training in terms of:

  • Understanding of processes and controls, as set out within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

  • The identification of continuous improvement opportunities and methods of escalation.
  • The explicit requirement to update SOPs for those process they are responsible for, when required.
  • The support of a strong service culture through learning opportunities and the promotion of aligned behaviours, which support the development of colleagues at all levels within the COO function.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent, and insurance qualification (ACII) is preferred
  • Strong understanding of delegated authority frameworks, premium lifecycle management, bordereaux processes, and oversight (2 years)
  • Experience producing and interpreting reporting for governance forums and regulatory bodies
  • Data driven approach to measuring service and ability to analyse trends in data.
  • Strong problem solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Delegated Authority systems (to include BinderCloud) would be useful.
