Head of Technology

As a pivotal member of the AG IT Directorate, reporting directly to the IT Director, the Head of Technology (HoT) will play a critical role in guiding and delivering technology solutions that support our global legal operations.

The HoT is responsible for establishing the vision and strategy for the technology function, overseeing the budget and resource allocation for the IT Technology team, and collaborating with other department leaders to foster a culture of excellence and teamwork within the IT division across the firm.

What You'll Do:

• Offer strategic leadership on technology and guide decisions to ensure IT initiatives align with the AG's vision, values, and business goals.

• Create and maintain a thorough change roadmap that advances AG's business strategy, fosters innovation, and supports IT operational excellence ensuring the roadmap truly represents the firm's objectives and is supported and understood by all IT teams.

• Advise business leaders on using technology to meet goals and deliver measurable benefits, overseeing technical solutions and support project delivery per AG's standards and PMO governance.

• Provide leadership and guidance to a high-performing team, cultivating a culture of collaboration, continuous learning, and customer excellence. Consistently promote and embody these values throughout all IT and Business Services engagements.

• Build strong relationships with AG stakeholders, ensuring satisfaction, gathering feedback, managing expectations, and resolving issues throughout project lifecycles.

Who We're Looking For:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership role within a mid to large IT department, with demonstrated contributions to IT leadership, strategic direction, and organisational change leading and managing IT teams, overseeing projects and budgets, and providing IT services and solutions to internal stakeholders.

• Extensive experience of collaborating with senior management and directors, translating business needs and requirements into effective, value-driven solutions and strategic roadmaps.

• Demonstrable expertise in negotiation and vendor management, along with the ability to foster and maintain productive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

• Solid background in program and project management, ensuring delivery within established governance frameworks.

• In-depth understanding and practical experience with software, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, and Data Engineering/ Business Intelligence technologies and their implementation.

• Proven experience managing software development teams, delivering diverse solutions and fostering best practices in development methodologies such as agile Scrum etc.

• Demonstrable experience and expertise in delivering Generative AI (Gen AI) and Agentic AI solutions, including the ability to architect, implement, and scale autonomous AI agents and Gen AI platforms that drive business transformation, operational efficiency, and innovation across the enterprise. Experience of implementing a homegrown AI solution and the proven ability to lead teams in adopting advanced AI technologies, integrating them with existing systems, and ensuring compliance with governance, security, and ethical standards.
