Part-Time Heavy Plant Engineer (Semi-Retired Welcome)

Salary: £40,000–£45,000 per year (pro-rata, depending on experience)

The Role

We are seeking a Part-Time Heavy Plant Engineer / Plant Fitter to work within our fully equipped workshop.

You'll be carrying out servicing, repairs, and maintenance on a wide range of heavy plant and construction machinery.

Hours are flexible – we're happy to discuss part-time schedules or reduced hours to suit you.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair heavy plant machinery in the workshop.
  • Carry out regular servicing, inspections, and maintenance.
  • Perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical fault-finding.
  • Undertake light fabrication or welding when required.
  • Support colleagues and share experience within the team.

Requirements

  • Qualified Heavy Plant Engineer / Fitter.
  • Proven experience with plant, construction, or agricultural machinery.
  • Confident diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults.
  • Reliable, friendly, and able to work independently.
  • References required.
