The position involves handling materials, operating equipment, and ensuring the smooth receipt and dispatch of goods.

Responsibilities

  • Managing stock levels through accurate stocking, picking, and packing of items
  • Handling materials safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety regulations
  • Assisting with shipping and receiving procedures, including documentation and labelling
  • Maintaining organisation within the warehouse to optimise space utilisation
  • Conducting routine maintenance checks on mechanical equipment and reporting any faults
  • Supporting construction or refurbishment activities within the warehouse as needed
  • Performing heavy lifting tasks safely, often involving bulky or large items
  • Ensuring all operations comply with safety protocols and company policies

Experience

  • Previous warehouse experience is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the role
  • Familiarity with forklift operation is advantageous but not mandatory; certification is a plus
  • Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or AS400 is desirable
  • Mechanical knowledge or background in construction can be beneficial for understanding equipment maintenance and handling complex materials
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods
  • Proven organisational skills with attention to detail in stock management and order fulfilment
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team

Pay: £12.21-£15.00 per hour
