Job Purpose

The Cleaning Operative plays a key role in providing an excellent first-impression to our guests. The purpose of this role is to ensure all customer & staff areas are sparkling clean and inviting. Attention to detail is essential in order to maintain the utmost cleanliness. You will follow Health & Safety regulations including COSHH to ensure yours and your colleagues' safety and uphold Olympus' consistently high standards.

We are looking for a reliable person to join our hardworking team at the Olympus Fish and Chip Restaurant. You will be working within an allotted time frame and so it is essential to work on your own initiative and take pride in your work.

This is a fast-paced role and will require you to work efficiently and be comfortable in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting Line

Reports to: Duty Supervisor / Office Manager

Key Responsibilities

Core duties:

  • Clean & maintain customer & staff washrooms, including emptying bins, cleaning W/Cs, sinks, mirrored surfaces, door handles, and more
  • Vacuum clean restaurant and staff area carpets
  • Sweep & mop restaurant hard flooring
  • Dust & polish surfaces throughout the restaurant including table bases, mirrored surfaces, glass surfaces, partitions, light fittings, and more
  • Restock supplies as needed
  • Follow health & safety guidelines
  • Notify management of any repairs required

Skills & Experience Required

  • Previous experience within a commercial or domestic cleaning role
  • Ability to work efficiently and complete tasks within the allotted time
  • Polite and professional communication style
  • Knowledge of health & safety and COSHH
  • Ability to follow instructions and abide by health & safety regulations
  • Take pride in personal presentation and quality of work
  • Trustworthy, punctual, reliable, and committed
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work on your own initiative

Working hours are 7.00am to 9.00am over 3 days (to be confirmed at interview). Must be available for holiday and sickness cover.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: £7.55-£12.21 per hour

Expected hours: 6 – 12 per week
