We are looking for a Chief Architect to define and lead the technical vision behind Tangible's platform and integration strategy with global banks and financial institutions. This role is ideal for a strategic yet hands-on technical leader with deep expertise in enterprise-grade integrations, financial protocols, security, and regulatory compliance. You will shape Tangible's technical foundation — building scalable, secure, and interoperable systems that power liquidity across private markets.

Tasks

Technical Strategy & Vision

  • Define and maintain Tangible's technical architecture roadmap, aligning it with business strategy and long-term growth objectives.
  • Drive architectural decisions for scalability, reliability, and security across all platform components and integrations.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and AI capabilities to enhance platform performance and efficiency.

Architecture Design & Implementation

  • Own the end-to-end design of integrations with banks, custodians, and financial institutions.
  • Establish and enforce integration standards, APIs, and communication protocols to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Design and oversee secure, high-performance systems supporting payments, settlements, KYC/AML workflows, and regulatory reporting.
  • Define and implement observability, resilience, and fault-tolerance strategies for high-volume transaction processing.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure adherence to financial and data security regulations (e.g., GDPR, PSD2, SOC2).
  • Implement best practices for encryption, identity and access management (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SCIM), and overall data protection.
  • Define and uphold architectural standards, coding guidelines, and review processes to maintain quality and reliability across teams.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with product, engineering, compliance, and operations teams to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison in discussions with external partners, including banks, financial institutions, and vendors.
  • Communicate technical strategy, risks, and trade-offs clearly to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.

Leadership & Mentorship

  • Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering teams, ensuring architectural consistency and delivery excellence.
  • Mentor senior engineers and architects, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical mastery.
  • Contribute to hiring, onboarding, and professional development across the engineering organization.
Requirements

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional experience in software architecture, with at least 5 years in financial services or fintech integrations.

  • Proven expertise in API design, enterprise integrations, and distributed systems.

  • Strong knowledge of financial protocols (e.g., FIX, SWIFT, ISO and secure data exchange.

  • Deep understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), containerization, and networking.

  • Hands-on experience with data security, encryption, and compliance frameworks (KYC/AML, PSD2, GDPR).

  • Familiarity with identity and access management standards (OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, SCIM).

  • Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage both technical and executive stakeholders.

  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing technical strategy at the executive level.

  • Thrives in a fast-paced startup environment, balancing innovation with regulatory and security rigor.
