Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Vehicle Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and experience in vehicle maintenance and repair. As a Vehicle Technician, you will be responsible for diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and ensuring that vehicles are safe and roadworthy. Your role will also involve providing excellent customer service while working with various tools and equipment.

Duties

  • Diagnose mechanical issues using schematics and technical manuals.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tyre rotations.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment as required.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify potential problems before they become serious issues.
  • Assemble components and systems according to specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace to ensure safety and efficiency.
  • Assist customers by explaining repairs needed in a clear and professional manner.
  • Handle heavy lifting of parts and equipment as necessary during repairs.
  • Stay updated on the latest automotive technologies and repair techniques.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician or in a similar role is preferred.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot various vehicle systems.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job duties.
  • A valid driver's licence is essential for this position.
