Set within 2 acres of beautifully manicured gardens, this 3* property with 29 bedrooms is open year-round servicing leisure guests, locals and groups alike. We have a fabulously close-knit team who love to work together. We also boast stunning views from our elevated position from the coast to the Quantocks, Brendon Hills and indeed Exmoor itself.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Server to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service. As a Server/Bartender, you will play a key role in ensuring an enjoyable dining experience for our customers. Hours - 17:30 to 22:30 daily.

Your Role:

  • To welcome & greet each guest as they enter.
  • To ensure each guest is served with in a timely manner.
  • To ensure food and drinks ordered are delivered in a timely manner.
  • To maintain the high standards of cleanliness.
  • To provide and promote a welcoming, friendly, personal and professional service.
  • To ensure all guest expectations are reached and always exceeded.
  • Open and close areas following correct procedure forms.
  • To always promote the restaurant / bar and the hotel standards
  • To gain guest feedback for the restaurant / bar and the hotel and feed back to your manager
  • To assist guests enter the restaurant, carrying their drinks where possible.
  • To monitor the quality of food offered in restaurant and bar.
  • To control the security of the hotel and Report work related accidents, or other injuries immediately upon occurrence.
  • Support your colleagues and assist coaching new starters through their probation periods.
  • Maintain and striving to improve standards of service.
  • Maintaining a fast and effective service
  • Monitoring and keeping a close relationship with the kitchen to ensure guests receive their food in timely manner.
  • To be able to professionally take a Food & Drinks order from guests
  • Process payments and operate the POS system efficiently
  • Carry out end-of-shift closing duties, including full locking-up procedures and securing all areas of the hotel.

Experience:

- Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is preferred

- Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

- Knowledge of basic food preparation and food safety guidelines

- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and waitstaff teams

- Excellent guest service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction

- Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately
