Governance Manager

London

Seeking an experienced Governance Manager to oversee the delivery of corporate and academic governance, support senior boards and committees, and drive best-practice governance processes across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning and coordination of the governance calendar
  • Ensure timely reporting aligned with board and committee requirements
  • Provide accurate, up-to-date governance advice across a wide range of frameworks and processes
  • Deliver high-quality secretariat support: agendas, minutes, actions, and follow-ups
  • Support and lead elections for senior committees
  • Promote and embed risk-management best practice
  • Lead special governance projects and support senior leadership
  • Maintain strong communication across governance teams and senior stakeholders
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in collaboration with leadership
  • Line-manage and support Governance Officers
  • Maintain governance registers and oversee policy review cycles
  • Build effective relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders

Essential Experience

  • Strong understanding of higher-education governance (corporate + academic)
  • Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised with the ability to operate in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel to UK and European campuses

Desirable

  • Governance qualifications or willingness to work toward one
  • Experience with risk management
