At Ignition Technology we are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our Pre-sales to provide support, help and advice to both our internal sales team, our external partners, and their customers. You will Specialise in 2 to 4 vendors and develop a broad understanding of the whole vendor portfolio.

This would be an idea role for candidates with some presales experience or with a background supporting cyber security and networking products, looking to develop and take their next step.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES |

The Systems Engineer will be responsible for Pre-sales, providing support, help and advice to both our internal sales team, our external partners, and their customers.

You will Specialise in 2 to 4 vendors and develop a broad understanding of the whole vendor portfolio.

This is a great opportunity for a technically minded person looking to join the cyber security industry, or someone looking to further develop or advance their career by working with the latest technologies that the cyber security market has to offer.

As the Systems Engineer, you will:

  • Develop an in-depth understanding our product portfolio and confidently communicate the technology and its benefits at a technical level to our customers and partners.
  • Demonstrate a wide range of products both face-to-face and online meetings to both customers and partners
  • Provide post-installation support and follow up as needed
  • Support the management of the company's internal network and technology demo suites
  • For specific vendors, delivering post sales implementation
  • Work with Marketing and Sales for technical overview and provide technical collateral for webinars and events.
  • Test new security and networking technologies, to develop an understanding of the product and where it could be situated within our value proposition. Provide and extensive overview and feedback to the executive team, to ensure they make informed decisions about the new technology.
  • The successful candidate will be required to work mostly from the main office in Farnborough. Remote working is possible although time in the office on a weekly basis is expected.
  • The candidate will also be required to travel. This is mostly to visit new partners or customers within the UK. However, from time to time, the engineers will have the opportunity to travel abroad for vendor training (this is not guaranteed).

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE |

The ideal Systems Engineer
:

  • Experience in pre or post sales, working with cyber security solutions, or other channel-based activity is welcomed, but not essential
  • Experience working in a technical customer facing role such as technical support
  • Previous IT networking and/ or cybersecurity industry experience is preferred but not essential
  • Organised, structured, and efficient in your work, with good attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills

Preferred skills and experience:

  • Experience with CrowdStrike, Beyond Trust, EDR/AV, SIEM, PAM/IAM/IGA, NDR or other cyber security vendors
  • Comptia N+ S+ etc or similar
  • CCNA or similar
  • Enthusiastic and willing to learn
  • Good team player willing to share information and foster a positive team environment
  • Self-motivated
  • Flexibility, and the ability to work successfully in various environments
