Warehouse Operative with Flexi / Bendi / Pivot Steer Fork-Lift Truck Experience.

Stiller Warehousing & Distribution Ltd. are looking to increase staffing in an integral part of the business – our General Warehouse operation in Newton Aycliffe.

The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of experienced Warehouse Operatives with FLT experience in a fast-paced warehouse at our main site on Ridgeway.

This department provides both short- and long-term warehousing for a variety of customers with daily picking activities, loading and unloading of vehicles both inbound and outbound and forms one of the main areas of our business, this operation mainly covers Monday to Friday with working hours covering 16 hours per day on a shift system rota. To meet changing customer needs, overtime and weekend working can be a requirement of this role.

The applicant should have recent and relevant experience of working in a warehouse role and should for this role and hold a certificate of training for the operation of a Flexi / Bendi / Pivot Steer Fork-Lift Truck of which the training has been undertaken within the last 3 years.

Training certificates are required and are acceptable from all recognised bodies, i.e. RTITB, ITSSAR, AITT, NPORS etc.,

Main Responsibilities & Duties – but not limited to:

· Safe operation of Flexi / Bendi / Pivot Steer Forklift Truck

· To ensure company policy in relation to Health & Safety and relevant Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work are adhered to at all times.

· To work effectively as part of a small team to ensure the swift loading / unloading of vehicles to ensure customer requirements.

· Scanning of in / out bound freight using hand-held scanners.

· Manual picking of goods may be a requirement.

· 100% compliance to pre-use checks for all MHE used.

· Duties will include working predominantly within the warehouse and loading bay areas of the site.

Additional Duties:

· Highlight and escalate areas of improvement or unsafe practices

· Mentoring new staff in practices and procedures.

· Supporting the business when necessary for customer requests at short notice.

The Company reserves the right to vary or amend the duties and responsibilities of the post holder at any time according to the needs of the business.

Terms of Employment.

· The hours of work will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, operating on rotational shifts between the hours of 06.00 – 14.00hrs and 14.00 – 22.00hrs - breaks of 1 x 40 minutes paid break.

· Candidates would be required to be flexible to work additional overtime hours and weekends where needed to meet customer requirements.

· The position will be based at Ridgeway, Aycliffe Business Park, Newton Aycliffe. DL5 6SP

· Hourly rate of pay £12.66/hour with an additional daily back shift allowance when working back shift.

· Annual Holiday Entitlement 20 days plus 8 statutory days.
