Hygiene Manager

Mash Direct is an award winning, progressive business that produces and distributes quality mash and vegetable side dishes to homes across Ireland and the UK.

With a state-of-the-art factory, we are seeking to recruit for a Hygiene Manager to ensure hygiene is at the centre of our food manufacturing culture. Reporting into the Head of Technical, the Hygiene Manager will be central to the day to day operations department.

Hygiene Manager (Days)

The purpose of the role will be to provide an effective hygiene management service, to ensure full compliance with relevant legal, customers, BRC and Company standards. The candidate will ensure that all aspects of hygiene within the site are satisfactorily maintained, and that environmental microbiological standards and performance is monitored.

Key responsibilities:

· Maintain the hygiene standards in all areas of the factory.

· Work closely with the production and planning teams to ensure that production areas and machinery are cleaned to the highest standard whilst minimising downtime.

· Ensure a comprehensive cleaning plan is in place, reviewed and developed.

· Work with the hygiene chemical provider and other cleaning experts including the teams to introduce best in class practice to site.

· Audit equipment and areas after the hygiene process has taken place and report on tasks performed, to include conducting visual inspections and hygiene swabs of environment and equipment.

· Investigate and take the necessary corrective actions of any out of specification environmental micro results.

· Control key contracts; including chemical supply, laundry, consumables, and PPE.

· Maintain and enforce Good Hygiene Practices (GHP).

· Promote a culture of continuous improvement to ensure performance is constantly challenged and improved.

· Control hygiene budget.

· Maintain cleaning standards, records, and procedures in a state compliant to BRC and other relevant audit standards.

The ideal candidate will have:

· Relevant hygiene management experience preferably within a factory environment and hygiene related qualifications i.e. COSHH, IOSH

· Experience of working to a customer audit standard

· HACCP Level 3

· Knowledge of managing pest control
