Overview

Africa Mobile Networks (AMN) is a Network-as-a-Service business, building and operating mobile networks across rural Sub-Saharan Africa. The AMN vision is simple - a fully connected Africa, with no community of any significant size without telecommunication services to benefit the population economically, educationally and socially. AMN operates 5000 base stations across twelve networks in ten countries, providing mobile network services to approximately 14 million people living in rural Africa.

We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to support our marketing and communication strategy. The ideal candidate will have some experience in Marketing, though no technical knowledge about mobile networks is required. This role gives the opportunity to learn about telecommunications and the life-changing impact of telecommunication services on previously unconnected communities.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation of a marketing plan to raise the company profile across several channels (press releases, social media and the website)
  • Draft press releases, case studies and blogs
  • Update and maintain the company website using WordPress, ensuring all content is current and engaging
  • Create and edit photos and short videos
  • Maintain and update company social media accounts with consistent, high-quality content and graphics
  • Manage timelines to ensure all marketing initiatives are executed on schedule
  • Design and update brochures and other marketing materials
  • Assist in planning and delivering events, including internal workshops and external trade shows
  • Monitor general company email accounts
  • Research industry trends and competitor activities
  • Monitor media coverage, engage with journalists to promote company activities
  • Provide insights into marketing performance

Skills / Experience

  • Some previous experience in marketing is preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in social media platforms and digital communication tools
  • Creative thinker with attention to detail
  • Enthusiastic attitude
  • The ideal candidate should be familiar with marketing practices and display a keen interest in developing their skillset
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and time management capabilities

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £23,400.00-£26,000.00 per year
