Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Surveyor/Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing maintenance and repair projects, preparing detailed cost estimates. You will play a key role in project planning, site assessments, and client communication to support our ongoing maintenance contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys and inspections to assess maintenance and repair requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates and quotations for maintenance projects.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to gather pricing and project details.
  • Identify potential risks and areas for cost savings or efficiencies.
  • Assist in project planning and scheduling.
  • Ensure all estimates comply with company policies, industry standards, and client requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of estimates, site visits, and communications.
  • Support project managers during the tender process and during project execution as needed.
  • Keep up-to-date with current market rates, materials, and industry regulations in Scotland

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Proven experience as a Surveyor/Estimator within maintenance, facilities management, or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance works, building services, and repair techniques.
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
  • Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driving license and willingness to travel across Scotland.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications such as BSc in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Scottish building regulations and standards.
  • Experience with health & safety regulations relevant to maintenance work.
