Vacancy for a Team Manager – Youth Justice and Targeted Prevention Service
A fantastic opportunity has arisen within the Youth Justice & Targeted Prevention Service for a Team Manager to be part of our 'Child First' service. This post requires an individual who can respond flexibly and positively to the ever-changing pressures which agencies working in Youth Justice face.

The successful candidate will have excellent knowledge and skills in relation to managing Youth Justice case managers and specialist positions. As a member of the Youth Justice & Targeted Prevention Service Management Team, you will take responsibility for the management and delivery of services for children, young people, their families and victims. You will need to demonstrate proven experience in auditing youth justice cases and direct management of YJS case managers and specialist positions. You will have knowledge of the disproportionality issues impacting children in the Criminal Justice System and be committed to tackling discrimination and bias, so that all children can thrive.

You will provide management supervision and support which ensures the team delivers high quality Youth Justice services striving to achieve excellent outcomes for children and their families and keeping others safe. You will also be required to participate in the delivery and co-ordination of a wide range of Youth Justice & Targeted Prevention Service activities. This will involve personally undertaking policy development work and managing directly provided services, taking the lead on key themes and service issues e.g. Volunteers, MAPPA, Education & Training, Resettlement, Trauma Informed Practice.

Additionally, you will be expected to model exemplary professional practice for your team, setting high standards and demonstrating best practices in all aspects of Youth Justice work. You will regularly undertake audit activities as part of a robust quality assurance process, using your findings both to provide assurance on the quality of service delivery and to identify areas for continuous improvement. This integrated approach ensures that the team consistently delivers effective, child-centered interventions and meets all statutory and organisational requirements.

You will have excellent engagement and communication skills, and you will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail when quality assuring YJS case management work. In addition, you will possess expert knowledge of court work and case management and have the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-agency service.
