Job Description

We are looking for a qualified Level 3 Early Years Practitioner with experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

The role involves supporting children's individual learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and participation in everyday routines and activities. You will work alongside the SENCO, families and external professionals to provide consistent support.

This post is a fixed-term role for 12 months.

Responsibilities

Support children with SEND during nursery sessions

Follow individual targets, support plans and strategies advised by the SENCO and external professionals

Promote children's independence, confidence and engagement

Adapt activities, routines and environments to meet individual needs

Record observations and contribute to progress reviews and SEND documentation

Build positive, professional relationships with families and colleagues

Uphold safeguarding, confidentiality and all nursery policies at all times

Requirements

Level 3 Early Years Qualification (required)

Experience supporting children with SEND required

Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

Warm, patient and nurturing approach

Ability to work well as part of a team and take guidance from the SENCO

Reliable, committed and able to maintain professional boundaries
